Chasing light,
one frame at a time.

Misty lakes, city lights and the small details most people walk past.

The work

I photograph places the way they feel — the hush of mist over still water, a city glowing after dark, and the tiny details: a raindrop on a leaf, a flame, a flower turning to the light.

Approach

How I see a photograph

01

Light first

Every photograph begins with light. I chase golden hour and blue hour, and wait out the weather for the moment the clouds finally break.

02

Patience

The best frames rarely arrive on schedule. I return to places, watch how they change, and let a scene settle before I press the shutter.

03

A story in every frame

A good photograph should hold a feeling. I look for scale, quiet and contrast — a lone figure, a winding path, a break in the mist.

About

Behind the lens

I'm Sathish kumar, a photographer based in Norwalk, Connecticut. Photography is how I slow down — misty mornings at Lake Waramaug, tulip season every spring, a sunset over Boston harbour, and the quiet beauty of drops on a leaf after the rain.

This site is a growing collection of the frames that stayed with me. Every photograph here is about a moment I didn't want to forget.
